She’s definitely one of the most famous women in the world, but what we actually know about The Queen’s everyday life is very limited. We have a pretty clear idea of what she does for work each day, but what does she eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
“The Queen loved scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and a grating of truffle. But she was too frugal to ever order fresh truffles and only really enjoyed them at Christmas when the truffles were sent as a gift.”
The Queen tends to steer clear of starchy foods most days, so there’s no pasta, rice or potatoes on the menu.
Instead, she ‘sticks to simple things like grilled chicken with salad’, or ‘Dover sole on a bed of wilted spinach or with courgettes’. She also enjoys a Gordon’s G&T with her meal.
The Queen’s favourite cakes are a honey and cream sponge, as well as the chocolate biscuit cake that Prince William also served at his wedding reception.
He added that at least two varieties of sandwich must be on offer, such as cucumber, smoked salmon, egg mayonnaise, ham and mustard.
The Queen enjoys “a meal of lamb, roast beef, mutton, grouse or salmon” most evenings, others say she ‘loves a Sunday roast. She usually drinks champagne at dinner.
